Celebrating TFI’s June Employee of the Month: Get to Know Lauren
We're thrilled to recognize Lauren Coburn, Medical Assistant at Tennessee Fertility Institute, as our second Employee of the Month for June. Here's a little more about the heart she brings to her work every day.
A calling rooted in women's health
Lauren's journey to fertility medicine was shaped by a longstanding passion. "I've always been drawn to women's health and helping people through important milestones in life," she says. "Working in the fertility field allows me to support patients through those milestones — it's incredibly rewarding to be a small part of helping families grow."
She became a Medical Assistant in 2016, starting her career at an OB-GYN practice where she built a strong foundation in women's health. From there, she went on to work across a range of settings — primary care, allergy and asthma, and gastroenterology — each one deepening her ability to support patients through complex medical journeys. That breadth of experience, she says, is ultimately what led her to the fertility field.
The relationships that make it worthwhile
For Lauren, the best part of her role isn't any single task — it's the connections she builds along the way. "The relationships I build with patients are what I love most," she shares. "Being able to offer support, answer questions, and celebrate milestones alongside our patients is what makes this work so meaningful."
That commitment to patients extends to her team as well. "It's very important to me to make every patient feel heard, valued, and cared for," Lauren says. "Whether I'm helping a patient by answering their questions or supporting my teammates behind the scenes, I take pride in being someone others can rely on."
A message for patients
Lauren's advice to anyone navigating the fertility journey echoes what she brings to work every day: "You are not alone. This journey can have its ups and downs, but we are here to support and guide you every step of the way. Our team is truly invested in your care."
