Welcome Kayleigh Holthaus to the TFI Team!
We’re excited to welcome Kayleigh Holthaus, CNM, MSN, to the Tennessee Fertility Institute (TFI) team as our newest Nurse Practitioner! With a decade of experience in women’s health, Kayleigh brings a listening-first approach, clear communication, and steady reassurance to every visit—helping patients feel informed, supported, and hopeful from day one.
Inspired by Care, Driven by Community
Kayleigh’s passion for women’s health began early—watching TLC’s A Baby Story and seeing how meaningful those moments are for families. With her mom as a nurse, healthcare felt like a natural path. Kayleigh started in labor and delivery, quickly finding her calling. That experience led to midwifery, where she could support, educate, and reassure people during times that can feel overwhelming.
“As a midwife, you learn to listen first—meet people where they are, explain things clearly, and treat every patient as a whole person.”
Professional Experience & Leadership
Kayleigh has served as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) since 2015, pioneering the launch of a midwifery service line in Nashville. She’s overseen clinic operations, coordinated care across three hospital systems, and partnered with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. Her approach integrates social determinants of health into individualized, person-centered care plans, ensuring equity and access for all.
She’s also been a clinical instructor, mentoring future nurses and reinforcing best practices in patient-centered care.
Why TFI? Heart and Expertise
What excites Kayleigh most about joining TFI is our patient-centered culture. “I love how patient-centered the team is here,” she shared. “Everyone genuinely cares, takes their time, and wants patients to feel supported from day one.” It’s the kind of environment she’s proud to be part of—combining clinical excellence with empathy to help families grow.
Patient Education & Advocacy in Action
Kayleigh’s approach to fertility care is deeply rooted in her midwifery background, where listening first and treating every patient as a whole person are foundational. She believes that the best care starts with understanding each individual’s goals, concerns, and unique story.
“My background helps me approach each visit with empathy, patience, and a focus on helping patients understand their bodies and their options.”
Kayleigh is passionate about turning complexity into clarity—whether she’s outlining diagnostic plans, discussing treatment options, or simply answering questions. Her goal is always to replace stress and confusion with knowledge and confidence, so patients leave each visit feeling informed, supported, and ready for their next step.
The Most Rewarding Moments
For Kayleigh, the most rewarding part about supporting patients through their reproductive journeys has been the little moments: seeing someone feel hopeful again, helping them understand the next step, or celebrating big milestones together. Being part of something so personal and meaningful is incredibly rewarding.
Outside the Clinic
Her Perfect Weekend: When Kayleigh isn’t working, simple joys top her list: “A perfect weekend for me is…time with my husband, being outside, and slow mornings with a good iced coffee.” She’s also a fan of sporting events and summer concerts downtown. Locally, she loves 1819 in Thompson’s Station for coffee and Mama Mila’s in Columbia for a delicious meal.
Fun Facts: Kayleigh is into old-school hobbies—reading, baking homemade sourdough—and she’s learning more about gardening (last summer’s watermelon harvest was a hit!). Thanks to her husband, she’s also embraced caring for chickens.
Travel Highlight: A long-dreamed trip to Italy became a reality this fall—Florence was the favorite for its perfect blend of exploration, relaxation, and rich culture.
